They're all laughing at you, Kuester...

I would be surprised if this dude is still coaching the Pistons this time next week.

ROUNDBALL- Trade Deadline Thunder and Rockets make a few moves...

A lot more last minute trading went down than I had expected. Baron Davis and Deron Williams went east in the final hours, Kirk Hinrich went to the Hawks, and a few last minute trades have come in today.

The Houston Rockets did in fact end up making a few last minute moves, for better or worse. They traded Shane Battier back to the Grizzlies for Hasheem Thabeet and first round draft choice. This reduces 2.5 Mil off the salary cap and it gives the Rockets yet another project big man, potentially to take the place of Yao Ming after this season. This move had been talked about for a few days, so it doesn't come as much of a surprise. The Rockets also traded Aaron Brooks to the Suns for Goran Dragic and a first round choice. At least the Rockets are getting some draft picks with these players. Both players are still very young and could work out in the future with the Rockets. They weren't keeping Battier or Brooks beyond this season so I can't really complain about these trades.

Gerald Wallace did get traded to the Portland Trail Blazers. They sent Joel Pryzbilla and two first round picks. The Blazers will now have more of a chance at making it to the playoffs this season, with a set of legs on the wing in Wallace. The Bobcats also dumped some more salary, sending Nazr Mohammed to the Thunder in exchange for D.J. White and Morris Peterson. Overall, the Bobcats saved 8.6 mil on next season and acquired some draft picks. They do have Michael Jordan drafting after all though.

The Thunder also made the steal of the day. In addition to acquiring Mohammed from the Bobcats, The Thunder also traded Jeff Green and Nenad Krstic to the Boston Celtics for Kendrick Perkins and Nate Robinson. The Thunder are now primed for a playoff run with the likes of the Spurs and the Lakers. The big question surrounding this trade is why Boston would make a trade like this. They were looking for a little depth after Marquis Daniels went down and I guess they saw something in Jeff Green. Time will tell how this will pay off for both teams I guess. The Celtics also sent Luke Harangody and Semih Erden to the Cavs for a secound round pick. The Cavs are all set now!

First show is in Buffalo, second is in Rochester. All others should be marked.

Adrock is stoked to have a real basketball team in NYC again

Yes, the Knicks are back in business and everyone is excited about it. This is probably the best entry I have found thus far though. One can only hope Carmelo Anthony and Amar'e Stoudemire make an appearance in the next Beasties video. The new look Knicks will make their debut tonight against the Bucks. I will be watching both the game and the 5PM press conference.

Shelden Williams is getting traded to the Knicks!!!!

The Carmelo Anthony saga appears to finally becoming to a close, as the Knicks have finalized a deal- pending league approval- with the Nuggets. I still kind of feel like the Knicks could have waited until the end of the season and saved themselves a couple good players. But again, they appear to still be thinking long term with their moves. If everything plays out according to plan, Carmelo Anthony could be in uniform for the Knicks on Wednesday. Their roster might be looking a bit thin that night depending on how it all goes down. I already picked up Landry Fields in my fantasy league in anticipation of consistent stats going forward. There were reports of the Nuggets immediately shipping out Mozgov and Felton. We'll see how that plays out, but I don't see it happening. The Nets are going to have to take a long look at their roster now. Who knows how much stock they really put into this Carmelo Anthony trade happening. Most people had Anthony headed to the Knicks all along. We'll see what the morning produces for wire reports, especially the Rockets talks with the Nuggets, Celtics, Blazers, and any other teams I see anything printed about.

Rockets shopping Yao, Jordan Hill, Jared Jefferies and Chase Budinger.

Hopefully the Bobcats take the bait and send either Gerald Wallace or Stephen Jackson to Houston. Nene or Carmelo Anthony from the Nuggets would be nice, too. And I heard Timofey Mozgov has been mentioned in other trade rumors, so why not bring him into Houston as a piece in an Aaron Brooks trade? If Houston can get something in return for the expiring contracts of Jeffries and Yao, great. If not, they will still have money to go after one of the marquee free agents that will be available this offseason. I would hate to see the fiery Chase Budinger go elsewhere, but if it means acquiring Gerald Wallace or Nene, I'm all for it. I am counting on Daryl Morey to continue his trade deadline mastery.

Kansas suspends Tyshawn Taylor indefinitely

I have my guesses as to what he did exactly, but I will wait to speculate until a real report is released. This will only open the door for Josh Selby to start doing his thing more. It is crunch time though, as the tournament nears. One can only hope this team is ready in a few weeks...

Title Fight/Dead End Path/Touche Amore FULL US TOUR

One more piece of DEAD END PATH hype to report today, Title Fight just released the following statement:
"We are very happy and excited to announce that we will be embarking on our first headlining tour beginning on May 19th to support the release of our debut full length Shed. Joining us on the tour will be our friends in Touche Amore, The Menzingers, Dead End Path, and a west coast appearance from Shook Ones. We wanted to put together a tour package that is diverse and exciting for people to come check out. Each one of those bands plays a style of music a little different from each other and brings something refreshing to the table. Hopefully we will see you out at the shows, and if we are not playing near you, we will make it there soon.

Thanks to our friend Josh Stephens for drawing up the design and Well Fed for laying it out.

Happy 34th birthday to Stevie Franchise!!!!

Steve Francis turns 34 today. I was hoping he would still be in the NBA when he turned 34 and I would imagine he was, too. A lot of Grizzlies fans, probably look at it as poetic justice, but it just bums me out. Steve Francis was my favorite player for a few years there when the Rockets were transitioning into the TMAC/YAO era. Sometimes I wonder what would have happened if the Rockets would have never made that trade. Would Francis have stayed a Rocket for many years and would his career have derailed as quickly as it did? Blame Jeff Van Gundy and hope that he puts the microphone down at some point and just goes away. Steve Francis is one of the greatest NBA players never to win a playoff series. Unfortunately, the year the Rockets lost to the Lakers in the playoffs would be the only time that Francis would taste the playoffs. If it's any consolation, you will always be one of my favorite players Steve!

I love Bill Walton's message to the kids in the next video...

Krazy Fest takes shape, looks like THE fest...

I was busy getting some Enterprise Hardcore stuff taken care of last week so this one slipped right under my nose. I may or may not purchase a ticket this week, depending on a few personal expenses. I had a great time when I visited Louisville im 2006 and this would be a great time to come back there.

Jarrett Jack DUI

Jarrett Jack was arrested in Atlanta this week on DUI. Quite an up and down week on the wire for Jack, as he was on HLN doing an interview on NBA players that went back to college. Wrong place, wrong time? At least he didn't swig from a bottle of scotch when the deputies reached him.

ROUNDBALL- ALL STAR EDITION, MELODRAMA HEIGHTENS

The NBA All star game was held in Los Angeles last night. I had the show at Dub Land so I only caught a little bit of it on the TV there, and then the very end when I got home. I'm more into the rookie/sophomore game at this point, anyway. Kobe Bryant and Lebron James did put on a show though, and I was surprised to see how close it was when I got home. LeBron tried hyping his team back up and he messed around and get a triple double. It wasn't enough though as Kobe Bryant walked away with the victory and the MVP trophy. Saturday's festivities set a ratings record for NBA all star Saturday. I think the car had something to do with it...

The Melodrama is going to reach it's peak over the next couple days. No word yet on whether or not he has gotten a four hour block on CNN to announce where he's taking his talents to. Reports are coming up on both sides of the coin of course. According to a report published last night, the Knicks have made their final offer to the Nuggets. It doesn't include Timofey Mozgov. It looks like it's not going to, either. In my opinion, Denver would get the most out of the New Jersey trade. But, going to the Nets really would be starting over and without a lot of talent around him. The Knicks would still at least have Timofey Mozgov (if they don't budge), Amar'e Stoudemire, Landry Fields, and Carmelo Anthony. Chauncey Billups would be nice in New York for a season or two, too. Even if he doesn't want to leave Denver. It sounds like the Nuggets won't make this deal unless the Knicks include Mozgov though. I doubt they would let this deal hold up over him, but you never know. I don't think this trade really improves the Knicks, either. I guess it does if you look at the big picture, with them potentially adding Chris Paul or Deron Williams to the mix down the road. That would be a big three right there. That would be a full decade of waiting for this Knicks organization. I hope it's worth it. I think it would be better for everyone if Carmelo just finishes this season on the Houston Rockets and then he signs with the Knicks in the offseason. Honestly though, that Nene deal would still be great for the Rockets, too. The trade deadline is in three days so there is finally a light at the end of the tunnel. This is my favorite time of year.

Why do you keep marking an E on my hand????

So we put on the first Enterprise Hardcore show in three years last night. It was just about what I thought it was going to be, with how the couple days leading up to the show had gone. I remember now a few reasons why I stopped putting on shows. In the seven years since I stopped putting on shows, the average price of a local show has gone up by a few dollars. Dave and I wanted to change that and put on a few local shows and have the price for them all be $5, possibly less. We're even bringing touring bands in on some of these $5 bills. And yet some people still like to take advantage of that by Xing their hands and acting like they already paid. The turnout wasn't stellar, but for a few local bands, I thought everything ended up pretty well. All of the bands were great. I am stoked to have finally seen Memory Loss. Our next show will be this Sunday again at Dub Land Underground at 6PM with Orodruin, Death Camp, Beastman, Malformed, and Black Heart Hope. Again, $5. There is also a change to note for the March 18 show. Born Low is no longer playing and in there place will be Palehorse. Due to so many out of town bands playing this show, we will be increasing the price for this show to $8. We will still be doing $5 shows though. Dawn of War will be playing their first show since last summer and it should be pretty nutty!!!!

Blake's Got a New Face...The Black Mamba (Video)

Blake Griffin dominated the dunk contest last night, here are the highlights.

I would have rather seen Demar Derozan face off against Griffin in the finals. I guess it wouldn't have mattered though, as Griffin came prepared with a car, a choir, and Kenny Smith's hype parade.

And NIKE released this this weekend...

CAN'T WAIT for the game tonight. I'll be at Dub Land Underground though, so I hope to catch enough of the game.
