ROUNDBALL

After Kansas lost last night, I did not want to watch very much basketball. I still found myself tuning into the Knicks and Thunder game. I am glad I did. There were twelve other games on the NBA schedule last night.

Like I said last night, watching the Knicks game I just got the feeling they were going to blow it and let the Thunder take over. I just didn't expect it to all unfold the way it did. I also didn't realize that was Kevin Durant's first NBA game winner. He handled it very calmly. This was certainly a heartbreaker for the Knicks and you have to hope they can recover from this. Wilson Chandler has disappeared the last two games. Maybe this is a sign of things to come. The best part about THIS VIDEO is watching the way the Knicks react as the shot goes in, especially Landry Fields. Get used to it, buddy.

Dallas was able to go into New Jersey and steal one from the Nets. New Jersey had a chance to close it out, but Devin Harris put up a pretty horrible shot and Dirk responded with a game winning shot with six seconds remaining. Despite this win, Dallas is a team that is clearly still in need of some help.

Portland and Washington each came out with narrow victories over the Pacers and Celtics respectively. Lamarcus Aldridge continues to carry the Blazers. Like I said earlier, Anthony Randolph's name has recently been connected to this team. That is a low risk/high reward situation that could potentially carry this team. I realize I've hated on Randolph before, but he does still have potential.

Joe Johnson and the Hawks were able to recover from their embarrassing defeat 24 hours earlier to the Hornets. They responded by defeating the Bobcats by sixteen points. It is only a matter of time before Michael Jordan disassembles this roster. You can only blame him so much on this one, but he will now be connected to two failed franchises.

The 76ers, Heat, and Hornets all won by double digits last night. The Hornets 24 point win over the Spurs had to have been the most shocking. That is back to dominant wins for the Hornets and eight overall. In the Spurs case, you can't win ever night and they clearly took this night off. The Hornets went on a 21-0 run in the third quarter and never looked back. The Spurs starters combined for 36 points in this game. Lebron James and Mike Miller carried that Heat to victory on the road against the Raptors. Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade both sat out. The Jazz continued their downward spiral last night. This has been a humiliating road trip for them, with losses to the Wizards, Nets, Celtics, and now the 76ers. They go to LA to face the Lakers before returning home.

The Pistons defeated the Suns in a surprisingly low scoring game.
Vince Carter and Grant Hill took the night off to chill apparently, as they both scored in the single digits. The Bulls handed the Cavs their 16th loss in a row. Every time the Cavs take the court I expect them to lose at this point. They're still somehow not as bad as the Nets were last year though. Memphis won again, this time defeating the Bucks 94-81. Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph each had double doubles for the Grizzlies.

I can not think of any adjectives to accurately describe Blake Griffin anymore. He had 30/18/8 in helping his Clippers defeat the Warriors last night. Stephen Curry had 32/6/8 in defeat and Monta Ellis was able to play a full game, one night after being helped off the court.

The Magic have had the Rockets number for a while now and this continued last night. The Magic's starters dominated this game for the first three quarters and then the Rockets were able to make the score somewhat respectable in the fourth quarter.
