First ever late day/evening edition. This will make it easier to focus on the bigger issues tomorrow: possible I love you piece on Ryan Anderson, and maybe some extra lobbying for Monta Ellis and Chuck Hayes (!) for the all star game. I like days like this, where the league has six games all spread out throughout the day. Almost feels like a Sunday.
First off was the Miami Heat going into Oklahoma City to face the Thunder. They were able to use a closeout fourth quarter from Eddie House of all people to win this game. Apparently, Kevin Durant called Chris Bosh a "punk" in an interview after the game. I have never been and am still not completely sold on this Heat team.
Kobe Bryant reached 40 points for the second time this season today. It wasn't enough, as the Celtics defeated the Lakers by double digits. This was a physical game as always with these two teams and Kevin Garnett's skull received a good deal of damage courtesy of Pau Gasol. Garnett returned with his head in a bandage later. He didn't throw any cheap shots afterward, although him and Ron Artest had to be separated at one point. I really didn't realize Artest was still playing for the Lakers.
The Cavs have now lost 20 games in a row. I will try to make more fun of this in greater detail tomorrow. Ryan Anderson is really helping my fantasy team as of late.
The 76ers were able to easily fend off the Nuggets tonight. It looks like Carmelo Anthony might have his sights set on his meeting in New Jersey tomorrow. I hope he scores 60 against them.
Right now I am watching the Knicks host the Pistons. TIMOFEY MOZGOV has his first career double double. You would think the Knicks would have run away with this one, but they keep leaving Ben Gordon wide open and he now has seven three pointers. The Knicks are up by nine with 5 minutes remaining in this game. Greg Monroe has been having a field day in the paint.
In college, Duke did in fact lose to St. John's today, setting up Kansas for a #2 ranking this week. As I said before, the way you play in March is all that matters at the end of the day.
