Last night when Ronny Turiaf went to the bench early on in the second quarter, I doubt anyone was expecting Timofey Mozgov to come in and dominate. Hell at first, it didn't even look like MOZGOV thought he would be able to. He quickly changed all of that. After missing his first four shots, Mozgov made 9 out of his next 11 en route to a 23 point and 14 rebound night, both easily career highs. More importantly, he was able to help lead the Knicks to a victory of the Detroit Pistons. This was a very exciting game, as Ben Gordon scored 35 points (on seven three pointers!) and Tracy McGrady returned to the Garden for the first time as a Piston. Amar'e Stoudemire (33 points, 6 boards, 4 assists) and Danilo Galinari (29 points, two off his career high) also helped pace the Knicks in what could have been one of their better all around performances of the season. It was great seeing Mozgov walk off the court to chants of "MOZ-GOV" by the Garden faithful. It was even better seeing him emphatically chest bump Ronny Turiaf as he walked off the court. Hopefully this spark will help carry these Knicks into the all star break. With it being a slow Monday, here is what everyone else has to say about Mozgov's career night (so far).
