All star status

As reported by Dime Mag, Rudy Gay is making his case for the all star team. On top of the fact that the video is a pretty funny spoof, Gay is having a career year and definitely deserves consideration. Unfortunately, he faces the usual stiff competition in the west and barring some more injuries, I think it will be tough to find room for him on the west.

Here are the final returns before starters are announced. Not really too many arguments here, aside from all of the Chinese people voting for Yao Ming. I hope Blake Griffin and Kevin Love both make the all star team. They are both exciting players, who don't get enough publicity outside of sportscenter. It is really tough to pick between Derrick Rose and Rajon Rondo this year and the voting shows this. Just like in MLB, I almost wonder if the final balloting will reflect at all on which team has more home games between now and the final vote (The Bulls have five home games while the Celtics have four).

I have been saying for quite sometime now that the NBA is reaching one of its peaks again and I think this all star break will only help that.
